Hutcheson Announces January Financial Results
FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. (February 26, 2014) – Hutcheson Medical Center officials announced at its monthly Board of Directors’ Budget and Finance Committee meeting that the hospital lost $157,680 in January. Officials cited several factors in Hutcheson’s favor, including an increase in the commercial payer mix of hospitalized patients, financially positive results for several of Hutcheson’s outpatient clinics, and a higher overall case index.
“I am proud of the high level of medical care Hutcheson provides to our patients,” said Farrell Hayes President and CEO. “In January we experienced our highest overall case index in the history of the hospital which means we treated a much sicker patient population. We’ve worked very hard over the past two years to recruit and retain high caliber physicians, and a higher patient acuity level like this means the community is turning to us when they need quality medical help to get well.”
