Hutcheson Hospice

Hutcheson Hospice provides loving connections and advanced care for individuals facing terminal illness. We believe you and your loved one should receive the caring team-support needed to provide dignity at the end of life. Hutcheson Hospice offers compassionate 24-hour, 7 days a week on-call medical, social and bereavement services to the patient and family.

Admission/Qualification Criteria

  • Have life-limiting illness
  • Desire palliative (comfort) treatment to relieve pain or other symptoms
  • Patient does not have to be home bound

Eligibility

Individuals of all ages who suffer from the following end-stage diseases are eligible for Hospice care:

  • Cancer
  • Heart Diseaselogo
  • Kidney Disease
  • Lung Disease
  • Neurological Disease
  • Liver Failure
  • AIDS
  • Lou Gehrig's Disease
  • And many others

Hutcheson Hospice serves Catoosa, Dade, and Walker counties

Referral Process

Referrals may be made by anyone. Patients must have an attending physician. If they do not have one, the Hospice medical director will serve as the patient's attending physician.

Payment for Services

Hospice accepts all patients regardless of their ability to pay. Hospice also accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.

Dr. Horton

Our Medical Staff

Hutcheson Hospice has been under the medical direction of William L. Horton, D.O. FACOI, since 1998. Dr. Horton is Board certified in Internal Medicine since 1992 and Hospice and Palliative Care since 2000. He earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Medical Technology at Delta State University, Cleveland, MS.
